Hey everybody — it’s Pete Macedo.

You may recognize me from such campaigns as running for mayor of Blacksburg.

I just wanted to take a moment to say how proud I am of my community for electing Darryl Campbell to town council.

I can’t express enough how important it is that we have diverse representation in our leadership.

I was so proud to meet Darryl, and I was so proud to support Darryl.

I’m so happy that you also support Darryl, and that we’re able to put him on our town council.

He’s the second person of color ever to be on town council — he’s the first Black man to ever be on town council in Blacksburg.

It’s just amazing that you chose him.

I’m so glad that he is taking the risk to be out there and support his community.

And I’m so proud that we were able to support him.

Congratulations, Darryl Campbell, for getting elected to Town Council.
