Hey everybody — it’s Pete Macedo. I was running for mayor.

The election happened on Tuesday, and we’re still waiting for everything to get counted.

This tree — this maple tree — is absolutely gorgeous. I had to stand by it again as I bring up something that a lot of people have been talking about.

The ballots for the local election were kind of a surprise for some. It wasn’t really as pushed as hard as the state elections and the state ballot.

And so, some people were kind of confused by the choices that we had there.

I just want to say — don’t get so down on yourself. It’s okay. Blacksburg has very rarely had lots of choices. It’s been, like, about 15 years since we had a good selection of people to pick from.

So we’re just not used to that. But I’m very hopeful that in years to come, we’ll have lots of good choices. We’ll have people that represent us well.

And you’ll be able to remember to prepare next time.

So — don’t get so down on yourself. Everything’s cool. Let’s wait for those ballots to get counted.
