Hey everybody — Pete Macedo, candidate for mayor.

It’s Wednesday, and they’re supposed to be counting up the provisional ballots today. So hopefully sometime soon, maybe we’ll know who’s going to be mayor of Blacksburg in the coming years.

I just wanted to thank everybody for allowing me to be one of your choices. As a candidate for mayor, I think elections are really about choices — and I was proud to be one of those out there so that you could pick and see who is going to be part of your Town Council.

Town Council really is just a team of seven people who are here to make choices for you. And so it’s so important that you have options and opportunities to identify people who you feel represent the viewpoint that you have in your town.

So I hope that going forward, we’re going to be able to continue this culture — of being able to make informed choices about who leads us — and that we’re supporting those who lead us to make good choices as we go forward.

So thank you so much for supporting me and others in this election, and hopefully we’ll have some answers soon.
